The photograph was taken at the starting point of our climb to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. As soon as I took my first step, the face, full of wonder and innocence caught my attention. I paused and before he could run away, I was lucky to get the picture. We reached the top of the mountain, came down, years flew by, but the image never left. Now, anytime there is turmoil in the world, natural or otherwise, those hopeful eyes are with me, all the time.
